Little Liesl is really interested in books, reading, and crawling onto and into absolutely everything. She loves making funny faces and showing off her dimples.
Although Pete and I like the beach, we’ve avoided it with Liesl mostly because of the mess and hassle factor. Today, however, we took her to the beach to see if she’d enjoy it or not. She loved playing in the water and kicking her legs, but hated the taste of salt water (no surprise there), the sand in her swimsuit, and how cold she felt after getting out of the ocean.
This might sound strange, but it’s such a privilege to capture the sweet moments of Liesl’s childhood on camera like this. These moments — her holding Pete’s hand, Pete and her enjoying their playtime together, and her fearless inquisitiveness — are fleeting, and I want to make sure to savor them as they happen.
Pregnancy update:
This week marks us at 30 weeks pregnant! Baby Bier #2 is due in 10 weeks (mid-April) and we are excited for him to make his debut. This pregnancy has flown by, partly due to being busy with work and life in general, and partly due to chasing Liesl! I’m sure other moms feel this way with their second, third, etc. pregnancies; I’m actually enjoying this one a bit more than my first because I feel so much more relaxed about everything. It’s nice knowing what to expect, what’s “normal” feeling, and what’s to come after the baby is born. So far, I’ve been able to continue working out like usual, and have only recently started to experience some mild sciatica pain. Nothing too terrible, and it just reminds me that it’s okay to take things easy every once in a while.
