37 Weeks: Babymoon Time

Pregnancy Q&A

How far along? 37 weeks

Best moment this week: Pete and I took a babymoon up to Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore and had a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed our time together very much, and spoiled ourselves with a little rest and relaxation time before the baby arrives.

We also had our 36-week appointment last week, and everything looks good on the baby front. Baby Bier is measuring long (surprise, surprise), so it looks like we might have a long baby on our hands. Pete’s already surmising the sort of athlete she’ll be; “Will she be a golfer like you? If she’s tall, will she be a volleyball player?” (If for some reason the doc was incorrect at our 20 week appointment, and the baby is a boy instead of a girl, heaven help the little guy. Pete will have his athletic future planned out before the kid’s even a week old.)

37 Weeks Pregnant

Total weight gain/loss: 30 pounds gained. I’ve noticed that even though I eat and workout the same amount, the weight is just packing itself on my body these last few weeks!

Maternity clothes? You betcha

Stretch marks? No, although in the past few weeks I noticed that I have a very faint linea negra.

Movement: Yes, and pretty strong ones at that.

Food cravings: Cheddar Goldfish crackers, peanut butter M&Ms, and beef in general sounds good pretty much any time.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No

Gender: Girl!

Labor signs: Besides the normal Braxton Hicks contractions and general pressure, nothing out of the ordinary. My back is starting to hurt a bit more, and my hips feel really sore/achy. (Just in case, we’ve got the baby seat installed in the car ready to go, and our packing list for the hospital is written, too.)

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? A few days ago, I had to take my wedding ring off. 😦 My fingers are feeling more swollen than usual, and the ring cutting into my finger started to hurt pretty badly. So, for the time being, I’m sans rings.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy

Looking forward to: A full night’s sleep! I know those will be few and far between in the coming months, but at least I’ll be getting up for something other than the bathroom.

  1. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen one before, but I googled “linea negra” and recognized the images. Very interesting what the body does to us, haha! Buena suerte amiga. Estoy pensando en ti mucho y estoy muy emocionada por ti y Pete y Baby Bier 🙂

      • I was wondering if I would have the double post. I did one and then it asked me to login since I have a wordpress account, but I didn’t see it so I posted again. So, feel free to delete one, and it’s funny that my name above says “Christinetine” haha!
