40 Weeks: Hello to Our Due Date

40 Weeks Pregnant

Pregnancy Q&A

How far along? 40 weeks!

Best moment this week: Pete makes me laugh whenever he puts his face against my belly and talks to the baby. He’s usually either singing to her, telling her “Pete-isms”, or encouraging her to come out of the belly so he can meet her face-to-face.

Total weight gain/loss: 37 pounds gained

Stretch marks? Nope

Anything noteworthy? I’m surprised at how disappointed I am that she’s not here yet! I was so sure that she was going to come early, or at least by her due date, and now that this date has come and gone I’m a little bummed that she hasn’t arrived yet. I suppose it’s a good lesson in being patient!

Labor signs: No, nothing consistent that hints at imminent labor.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? Off and temporarily replaced with a fun cocktail ring.

Anything different this week from last week? This week, I’ve intentionally tried to stay as busy as possible to keep my mind and body busy as we wait for Baby Bier to make her grand appearance. I’ve cleaned the house numerous times, done lots of little errands, finished up my work responsibilities in preparation for maternity leave, walked everyday, and done just about anything that can be done to prepare for a baby. Any suggestions on ways to stay busy are welcomed. πŸ™‚

Looking forward to: Getting the show on the road! All of the anticipation, waiting, and excitement have culminated at this 40-week mark, and we’re ready to meet our little girl!
